Ellen Tynan is a writer and freelance photographer with a specialty in marine photography. She is currently working on "Boat Lines" - a book and photo project on traditional boats, which encompasses work from six regions of the world.

Ellen's work is informed by her childhood growing up in a small town on the coast of New England and her experiences as a sailor, boat builder, fisherman and environmental specialist. She works to communicate connections among and between the sea, traditional boats and the coastal people who build, sail and paddle them through her photography and writing.
